How long is the incubation period for the novel coronavirus

The general estimation for the incubation period of COVID-19 is between 2 – 14 days. While that is true for most cases reported around the world, there have been a few cases where incubation lasted for 27 days as well.

The reason for this was said to be double exposure to the infection.

While statistics keep coming in with different reports, WHO and other healthcare organizations are recommending a quarantine period of at least 14 days from the appearance of first symptoms. This is important to curb the contagion that has spread throughout the world. Precautionary measures should be adopted at every level to save lives and to stop this pandemic from leaving behind further casualties.
