Paroxymal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) Flow Cytometry

About Test

Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a rare blood disorder characterized by the destruction of red blood cells. The PNH flow panel test is a laboratory test that is used to diagnose PNH by detecting the presence of abnormal blood cells in a patient's blood sample.

The test is performed using flow cytometry, a technology that allows for the rapid and simultaneous analysis of multiple parameters on individual blood cells. During the test, a blood sample is labeled with specific antibodies that bind to different markers on the surface of red blood cells. The labeled cells are then passed through a flow cytometer, which uses lasers and detectors to identify and quantify the presence of abnormal cells.

The results of the PNH flow panel test can provide valuable information for the diagnosis and management of PNH, as well as help to monitor the progression of the disease over time.
